Shawarma Damascus is the best shawarma in Kingston, even beating out its predecessor / sister restaurant Shawarma El Mina. Don't try to come here right after 5pm - it's just PACKED with people getting giant family platters. But come any other time and split a Large plate with a fellow food warrior; the portions are enormous.
Amazing, fresh, delicious food, served up super fast any time there isn't a line out the door. This place is a must for us any time we're in the area, and a tots hidden gem! -

Popped in here over the long weekend. I'm not sure when it opened but I think it's fairly new for the Kingston area. It's tucked away, nearly hidden between Bench and Magnotta, in the back of King's Crossing Outlet plaza.
They have some small tables when you first enter. It's a tall, spacious and open feeling interior. Super friendly and polite service. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate (L), kafta kebab plate (L) and a poutine (S). All platters come with rice, potatoes, garden salad, garlic sauce, hummus and a pita. They said the pitas come in from Ottawa everyday and that they make all their own sauces.
They give HUGE and generous portions! The chicken shawarma plate was really delicious. The chicken was well done, very flavourful and moist. Their turnips and pickles were super yummy. They tasted like they were also homemade too. The salad ingredients were all really fresh. The rice pilaf was superb. Well cooked and really well seasoned! The only thing I hope they improve is their potatoes. They weren't seasoned and a bit undercooked. They were still a good delivery vehicle for their sauces though. Their homemade garlic sauce is excellent! The kind where after you've eaten it, everyone in a 3 meter vicinity needs to know it! Their sauce really packs a punch. It has great texture and flavour. We ended up buying some to bring home. They also give you homemade garlic dressing sauce and homemade hummus. Both were tasty!
The kafta kebab was good too! Well seasoned but with a slightly gamey taste. It was mildly dry/lacking moisture in comparison to other places we've had it at. Still enjoyable though!
The poutine was also a good sized portion. You get a choice between fries or diced potatoes. We chose fries. The fries were a bit undercooked like the potatoes from our plates. The gravy lacked some flavour but the cheese curds he used were really fresh.
Really great service, the guys are so nice there. He accidentally forgot to give us our pita and was so apologetic. He also gave us an extra pita for this mistake, which was appreciated!
Overall, I really enjoyed the shawarma. Great portions and delicious food! I highly recommend this place! -

Surprisingly good food located in a somewhat sad outlet. Garlic sauce was on point and quantity was abundant. Probably the best Mediterranean rice was I've had. Salads were also super fresh.

Just moved to Kingston from the GTA where shawarma is so easy to find that I had taken it for granted. Super pleased to find something authentic here in the Kingston area. Friendly staff and very generous portions! Would definitely recommend.
